Author George Runyan: Fit For Engagement

It is a book that comes from fifteen years of teaching on the subject of Spiritual Warfare for a discipleship ministry at The Rock Church in San Diego. The book lays a biblical foundation for victorious living through the overcoming life of Christ. It identifies the enemies of every believer.

It addresses the life of Christ in the believer and that the battle must be fought joined to others. It deals with evil, establishes the battle lines beginning in the Garden then address Christs battle in the wilderness. The author describes the “Agony of Gethsemane.” Next the author addresses how judgment is part of spiritual warfare. You will learn of God’s three-fold mandate given, first to Adam, then to Israel and fulfilled in Christ.

You will learn in detail about putting on the armor of God. The question “are demons real” will be answered. Finally, what it means to be a Christian Solider. Every new believer needs to read this book as well as those wanting to know more about overcoming the world, the flesh and the devil. Fit For Engagement is a major help in the discipling process for any believer. The book would be wonderful for any small group study. The book is full of scripture to support the writing and thoughts expressed within its pages.

 

Author Stan Newton: Our Rich Root

This book was birthed out of a perceived necessity. If the arguments and conclusions found here are wrong or in need of correction, hopefully that will spur more discussion of this vital subject. The necessity for me was to challenge the church and avoid a major pitfall in our kingdom theology; namely, to rip the Old Testament out of our consideration.

This can happen in two ways. First, for several generations dispens-ational theology has made the prophecies of the Old Testament void, by stealing them from the true people of the kingdom – the church; and assigning them to a future age – the 1,000-year millennium. The second problem is a conviction that everything was fulfilled in Christ. Why is this a problem? If the words of the Prophets cannot be applied to the advancing kingdom of God, in and through the church, we lose a great treasure of prophetic word. The church must be built upon a foundation of hope and that foundation is first found in the Old Testament Prophets.

Both positions are inconsistent with what the apostolic authors of the New Testament wrote and declared as central to the Christian faith. I will restate my conviction. I am not backtracking on my conclu-sions in Glorious Covenant; one-hundred percent of the old cove-nant is obsolete and no longer has any binding authority over the church. Yet, there is a major difference between saying that the old covenant is no longer valid and saying the entire Old Testament has become obsolete. The entire Old Testament is useful and needed. We will make a mistake if we conclude the entire Old Testament is the old covenant. The old covenant is the Mosaic Law. There are portions of Scripture in the Old Testament, especially in the prophets, that speak to the new covenant and the present kingdom of God.

 

Author Robert Harper:Called to be Victorious

Believers do not have to struggle for victory or try to earn victory.  God has given the victory in Jesus Christ. In the greatest display of victory, God, the Father resurrects God the Son from the dead. This victory assures every believer’s future victory over death.  The song writer Bill Gaither wrote: “Because He lives I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone, because I know He holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives.”

My friend if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, God the Father has already scripted you and your life for victory.  This book is dedicated to assisting believers to tap into that place of peace, power and victory.
