Johnny’s Story

Johnny is an old man who plays Santa for the under-served every year. Johnny’s message is always the same, whether he’s with the kids or at his favorite watering hole; People who ask for more, never have enough but people who ask for enough never need more. God visits Johnny as a traveling writer at the bar and recruits Johnny to use his message for others before he moves on to his eternal reward.

About the Author

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Andy performed in the band Children during the early days of the Jesus movement of the 1970s. After the group broke up, Andy turned his attention to songwriting and worked with a publisher in Los Angeles who told him he would fit in better in Nashville, Tennessee. A single parent at the time, Andy packed up his two girls and headed to Nashville in 1983. Having a ‘real’ job on Music Row in the business side of music, Andy continued to write as a published writer of songs, columns and articles. Andy retired in 2011 and turned his attention to writing fiction and self-publishing his work.

“It was a delight to read the “Unknown Author”, known as my friend Andy Smith’s latest novel, “Johnny’s Story: Having the Gift of Enough”. I was really touched by the simple yet profoundly insightful story of one man’s gift of a transformational message that having the perspective that we can be content with having enough is indeed enough for us. In the crazy hustle and bustle of life, Johnny’s Story was a wonderful read, moving and sentimental, and yet profoundly personal in application. I was blessed by it, have recommended it to many, and will certainly re read it in the future…in fact, this is the kind of story that you can read to a child or grandchild as a way to communicate grace and truth, and the reality that God is good, and what he provides each of us is enough…and sharing our abundance provides for the enough of others.”
