Loren, Naffziger-- I hold a Doctor of Education degree, which was earned at Fielding Graduate University, a Master of Arts in Human Behavior and a Master of Science in Educational and Instructional degree from National University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree obtained through my studies at San Diego State University. While pursuing my doctorate degree I was able to attend courses with Dr. Rena Palloff and Dr. Keith Pratt, who are two of the most well respected authors and practitioners of online education. I completed a program with their guidance leading to the attaining of a post-graduate certificate for Teaching in the Virtual Classroom. My media studies concentration in the doctoral program was also instrumental in my current work practices as well as educational journey. For example, I do a lot of screencasting and synchronous online work, which my education anchors.
My current involvements include working as a consultant for major globally focused organizations with a focus in developing online courses and curriculum for multiple uses. The evolving instructional design needs of Internet-based education has opened an opportunity to work with universities and other organizations across the United States with possibilities for global expansion. My work involves the facilitating of online course development as I collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, instructional designers, technology specialists, marketing specialists, and administrations. My company is my most rewarding professional experience in my career.
