Author Donna Beckett is the eldest of four siblings born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school in Wisconsin her family moved to Maine where she attended the University majoring in Art and English.
She moved to Los Angeles and found employment as a pre school teacher earning an AA degree in child development. During her ten years as a teacher she studied music and became quite proficient on the bass guitar entertaining throughout Southern California, playing concerts with the KCBQ radio station band and later with the Wild Oats band.
Donna enjoyed good health until July 10, 1993. While driving on a canyon road she was struck head on by a three quarter ton pickup truck. Her car was demolished and she was crushed in the interior incurring head injuries, fractured pelvis, partial vision loss in her left eye and memory loss degenerating to amnesia and seizures. Donna's primary physician said she is a walking miracle.
Donna's friends and family encouraged her to write her true story of dying in the accident, her visit to heaven and the challenge of recovery. Victorious Message of Hope. (Vision Publishing) encourages all those subjected to hardship and difficult circumstances to believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ.
Donna plays bass for Heart of God Church in San Diego and has also published her gluten and dairy free cookbook, Donna's Favorite Recipes.
