Description

Author-Ken Chant

There can be only one definition of success for a Christian – find out what God wants, and do it. To do anything less is ungodly; to do anything more is unnecessary. This book explores the meaning of that concept, particularly in connection with church-planting and church growth. It also looks at some of the issues of church government, and at some of the basic principles that should undergird the pastor’s role. The result is a model of success that is not so much focused upon achievement as it is upon character, yet also recognizes that a truly expressed character will accomplish all that the Lord requires. So the issue is not building either a big church or a small one. Rather, it is to discover the kind of person one is, what is achievable for each person, and ultimately what is the purpose of God. If we can each reach the end of our lives and find ourselves able to echo Paul (“I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith,” 2 Ti. 4:7, GNB), then we may be well content.
