Pastor Jim Hill has been the pastor of the North Clairemont United Methodist Church in San Diego, California, for the last fifteen years.  For many years, he was the President of the Evangelical Fellowship for Church Renewal in the California-Pacific Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.  From 1994 to 2000, he was President of the Board of Transforming Congregations, a national United Methodist ministry to persons in sexual brokenness.

He has been published in the American Journal of Pastoral Counseling, Pastoral Care and Counseling in Sexual Diversity, edited by H. Newton Malony, and in Staying the Course:  Supporting the Church’s Position on Homosexuality, edited by Maxie Duunam and Newton Malony.  In 1999-2000, he had a series of articles on ministry to the homeless published in the Southern California Christian Times.  He has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, USD, and the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Mr. Hill received his BA from UCLA in 1967, an MA from UCLA in 1968, and an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1985.  He was ordained in The United Methodist Church in 1984.  He has been in full-time ministry since 1981.
