striplingpeele-2Dr. Scott Stripling serves as the Director of Excavations for the Associates for Biblical Research dig at Shiloh. Prior to 2017, he held the same position for the Khirbet el-Maqatir excavation.  Previously, he worked as a Field Supervisor at the Tall el-Hammam Excavation Project in Jordan and for two seasons as a supervisor at the Temple Mount Sifting Operation in Jerusalem.  Articles recently published include: “The Problem of Ai in Joshua 7-8: Solved after Forty Years of Excavation in the West Bank of Israel,” “Have We Walked in the Footsteps of Jesus? Exciting New Possibilities at Khirbet el-Maqatir,” “Khirbet el-Maqatir: A Biblical Site on the Benjamin–Ephraim Border,” “Those Indefatigable Byzantines,” “The Israelite Tabernacle at Shiloh,” and “Livias: A Lost City.” and Scott’s book, The Trowel and the Truth (2007), has been adopted as an archaeology textbook by several universities, and his new book Somebody Call 9:11 was released on September 11, 2016 on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America.  He serves as provost and professor of Bible and Archaeology at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas.  Scott has earned two Master's degrees as well as a D.Min., with an emphasis in Ancient Near Eastern archaeology.  He pastored for two decades and has written and spoken publicly on a variety of ministry, archaeology, education, and public policy issues. A second edition of The Trowel and the Truth is forthcoming.
